Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier modulation technique that exploits the orthogonal of the sub-carrier to recover the data on the sub-channel, and to achieve a modulation and demodulation by means of fast Fourier transform and its inverse transform. It is a efficient data transmission technology that has been widely used in various communication systems. Yet OFDM system parameters are so many that it is very complex to achieve. There is no a unified platform to complete the simulation task of more different communication systems, for this problem we design a visual simulation platform.The channel characteristics of LWD sonic telemetry systems, power line communication system and typical wireless communication systems are analyzed in this paper. The OFDM principle is studied and the OFDM transmission system is achieved in the paper. MATLAB GUI is used to design a visual simulation platform of three communication system based on OFDM technique. The functions of the simulation platform include:calculating the channel response, select the sub-carrier and system performance testing. The platform achieved a software-wise analysis of the performance of the communication system objectives. Innovation of this paper is to design a communication system simulation platform, on which users can use the platform to test and verify the design scheme under different parameters environment repeat, which can shorten the development cycle.
