With the rapid development of information technology, traditional education confronts with an inevitable revolution. Using of network and computer technology in teaching is becoming a normal style in teaching field. In recent years, both at home and abroad appeared a number of teaching platforms which are based on Internet technology. However, these teaching platforms do not apply to students because they are used for adults' education. What's more, none of the existing teaching platforms takes further development of the online questioning and answering system, teachers have to spend extra time and effort to solve a lot of similar questions. Most importantly, all of current teaching platforms limited by location are only running on the personal computer, which makes it more difficult when applying to the actual teaching.According to the disadvantages of what has been described above, this paper presents an intelligent teaching platform based on Android. Firstly, this article analyzes the background and the purpose and significance of teaching platform. Secondly introduces the concepts and techs used in the teaching platform in detail, including the Android system and the development of technology on it, ASP.NET, MVC architecture, Chinese word segmentation technology, sentence similarity computing algorithm and knowledge extraction algorithm. Thirdly the teaching platform is divided into three parts: Android Client for teacher, Android Client for student and the web server, all prerequisite demand analysis and design for these three parts are also taken into action. Finally, the whole involved capabilities of this teaching platforms are fully achieved, the detailed descriptions of accomplished significant sections for Android Client for teacher and student are proceeded, and the algorithm's codes of intelligent answering part in web server are also displayed.The main purpose of teaching platform is to provide assistance for teachers and students both inside and outside classes. Wherein, Android Client for teacher can provide these following functions: downloading and browsing lesson plans, achieving statistics of classes, starting classes and answering students' questions; Android Client for student can provide these following functions: doing homework and exam exercises, entering classes, achieving statistics of exercises and asking questions to teachers. Web Service module and system management module combined into web server, Web Service module provides interfaces which are used for Android Client, system management module is used for teachers and administrator to make class management, course management and exercises management.Functional test and performance test are taken after the completion of programming. The results indicates that the teaching platform meets all demands and achieve the design goal.
