SCR(Silicon Controller Rectifier) trigger controller is a common kind of controllable rectification devices, and its control has been improved in stability, accuracy, and intelligence when it converts to digital control today from analog control in tradition. With the development of industry and information technology, industrial control devices, such as SCR trigger controller,is no longer satisfied with working in simple and single control mode, which gradually works in a complex way of decentralized execution and centralized monitoring. Currently, most of industrial control device not only needs stable, reliable and precise control capabilities, but also needs a friendly human-computer interaction and networking capabilities. To resolve these shortages of present SCR trigger controller, this thesis presents a kind of SCR digital trigger controller based on ARM and FPGA. FPGA implements the logical control of SCR digital trigger circuit, while ARM provides human–computer interaction, networking communication, control management and task scheduling, which is a basic platform of implementing the field and remote monitoring to device. This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of monitoring system based on ARM.This thesis introduces the components of SCR trigger controller monitoring system, including control devices, remote monitoring center, human–computer interaction interface and communications network. And an overview of the main design contents of embedded monitoring system is presented in this thesis later. Then, in the design of system hardware, a practical application requirement has been analyzed in details for the monitoring system of SCR trigger controller, which summarizes an overall plan. According to the scheme, this thesis provides the design and implementation of the peripheral circuit surrounding TI AM335 x serial microprocessor chip, such as RS-232 interface, RS-485 interface, 1000 M Ethernet interface, CAN bus interface, LCD interface and a communication interface between the ARM and FPGA. During the design process, interface circuits are implemented with industrial-grade chips and make use of many circuit protection measures to ensure the stability and reliability of the hardware circuit. Subsequently, it is required to build embedded Linux system on the completed hardware circuit. The main work of this section is cutting out an embedded Linux system based on application requirements, so that the system becomes streamlined, fast and efficient, as SCR trigger controller is required to restart in a short time. In the system software design, the whole software modules on controller device are written with Qt. UART communication module is used to implement communication between the ARM and FPGA. Network communication module uses Modbus and CANopen protocol based on RS485/Ethernet interface and CAN bus interfaces which facilitates the remote monitoring. LCD touch screen, human-machine interaction module, implements the field monitoring. The PC monitor interface implements a virtual instrument to monitor devices with Lab VIEW. Finally, it is necessary to test the field and remote monitoring modules of the monitoring system designed in the thesis. Test results demonstrate that the monitoring system realized the desired goals.
