Correction And Supplement To The Scrutinizing Edition Of The Superfluous Words Of Mr.Ao(东谷赘言)

The Superfluous words of Mr.Ao(《东谷赘言》),two volumes, written by AOYing in Ming dynasty.AOYing,the author who borned in sixteen years of Chenghua and died in forty-two years of Jiajing.When AOYing was too old to be an official,he chose to wrote books and this book is he wrote at home. It was first published in twenty-eight years of Jiajing and the publisher was SHENHuai.What written in this book are previous scholars’great deeds and words, occasionally there have some criticism about poems and articles,historical events about Ming dynasty are included. It’s taken in the form of questions and answers, and Mr.Ao often discussed while he’s narrated. The main content of this book is to told a Confucian how to do in the world. It reflects Mr.Ao’s knowledge, experience, and interest in a certain extent. It can be said to be a microcosm of the history of AOYing. Through this book, we can study the life experience of AOYing,to understanding his thoughts as a scholar living in ancient,and know some historical events about Ming dynasty as well. This book now have its scrutinizing edition which published by Jiangxi education press. And it has become more authoritative version at present, which said to be on the basis of Yuzhang series,and has been consulted and proofread other versions.However,it also has some shortcomings, mainly displays in these aspects.Firstly,there isn’t further study on author’s history.Secondly, there are some mistakes about punctuation that need to be accounted for.Thirdly, there is no corresponding annotations about the book and what will make people don’t understand its words and allusions. At last,it has some problems in collation aspect which should be pointed out. According to the above situation, this paper has made corresponding research. The main work of this paper is as follows:Part one:refer to the relevant literature, do some analysis and research on the history of AOYing.Part two:correct and supplement to the scrutinizing edition of The Superfluous words of Mr.Ao(《束谷赘言》).What the correction part are correct punctuation errors. And its supplementary parts mainly focus on supplement to collation that related personnel did not pay attention to and relevant annotation about the text.Part three:for the convenience of the reader to further understand the book and author, AOYing, there has a appendix part at the end of the article for reference.
