In order to ensure the safety of automotive, the major car manufacturers have been committed to the development of automotive radar. However, because of cost and performance issues, it has not been popular as other automotive electronics. For the issues of automotive, this paper proposes a automotive radar based on combination between an FSK and an LFM waveform design principle. The waveform of FSK_LFMCW is a stepwise frequency modulated signal which consists of two linear frequency modulated up-chirp signals which are transmitted in an intertwined way. They just differ by a small frequency shift. Automotive radar based on the waveform not only can provides high range resolution, but also can solve the problem of multi-target detection with a simple algorithm. it use a simple method to achieve high performance. In automotive applications, the range resolution is impotant problem. In order to improve resolution, the Zoom FFT algorithm was introduced, which can increase resolution with low computation. As the automotive radar have to face complex environment,CFAR is necessary.but one-dimensional CFAR is always can not detect target form High-Clutter background. The two-dimensional signal processing and two-dimensional CFAR can do it. The two-dimensional CFAR proves to be effective to avoid interference between echo of target. Finally, based on the specific algorithm in the above analysises and the hardware of the design, this paper design software of DSP with C language, and verify that the software is able to correctly calculate the target information.
