As the most critical part of EMU, the EMU wheel axle is bulky and with great wastage, which may cause it is very difficult to manage. Lacking of statistical analysis of historical data, the existing inventory management information system can only do some transactional management in the basic information and inventory control of equipment. This shortage results in some difficulties in the functions of decision aids. However, for the railway enterprises in our country, reducing equipment consumption, reducing inventory and saving cost are not only the key of the operation and management, but also the essential requirements of maximizing the enterprise value. Considering the above factors, it is necessary for the equipment management system of railway enterprises to provide a variety of ways of analysis techniques and methods, offering an effective support for the decision of enterprise management environment.In this paper, the research mainly includes the following contents:implying the inventory operation management and the inventory information management of the EMU shaft, other auxiliary equipment and components, which can operate real-time tracking and store and share the date produced in the warehousing operations; building the EMU axle management data warehouse, determining the theme of the EMU axle management data warehouse system and providing the data of different granularity for the auxiliary decision analysis of enterprise; building multidimensional data model of the EMU axle management data warehouse, which can make enterprise management personnel observe and analyze data through multiple angle;Studying multi-dimensional analysis of the EMU axle management data warehouse and display the query results intuitively.Firstly, this paper combed some of the basic knowledge and key technology used in this system, mainly including the data warehouse technology, service-oriented architecture and NET platform, etc. Then, the system requirements analysis would be carried out and the system development boundary would be confirmed. Basing on the above analysis, a series of analysis will be carried out, including the whole structure design, detailed design and Database Design. By using the SQL Server database, this system can realize the data storage and management of the EMU shaft, other auxiliary equipment and components, with application framework SOA and development language C#. Besides, this paper also constructed a multi-dimensional analysis system of the EMU axle management data warehouse. It is expected to play an opposite role in the auxiliary decision support of railway enterprise EMU axle management, combining with the inventory management of the EMU shaft equipment and components.
