Various information technology (IT) development in the enterprises of the power industry have been realized in last decades.In order to improve the IT usage level and eahance the integration of information resources sharing, this paper designs and develops a real-time collaborative portal platform by studying instant messaging and enterprise protal technology.Based on message communication, file transfer, voice communications, video communications and other fundamental functions, and combined with Enterprise Portal Single Sign-On, Application Integration Technology, Instant Messaging System and Enterprise Internal Business Applications all round integrations, this platform extends the capabilities to smart mobile terminal applications and provids a unified and highly efficient collaborative office platform for all levels of staffs in the enterprise.By using C/S architecture and the standard XMPP Instant Messaging Protocol, this platform provides Message Routing, Message Logging, Peer to Peer chat, Multi-User Chat, News Subscriptions, User Status, Files (Multimedia) Transfer Agent and other core functional applications. Moreover, we design a plug-in interface services architecture, converte all common business systems functions to plug-ins and later integrate into instant messaging portal, finally realize user-friendly communication with ISO and Android-based mobile clients.This paper discusses and analyzes the XMPP protocol, designs and implements a detailed process of C/S structure of the real-time collaboration platform. First, we analyze the enterprise functional and non-functional requirements of this platform; secondly, provide overall platform integration and deployment architecture design, detailed description of specific client, server and mobile terminal design and implementation, realization of communication protocols, unified authentication and other key technologies during development implementation process. Finally, we show the implementation of the platform development tools and implementation screenshots.Innovative design and implementation of Instant Collaboration Platform within the enterprises of the Power Industry with integration of enterprise business office and instant communication as one of the internal application platform has huge application prospect.
