Design And Implementation Of Video Conference System Based On BigBlueButton

With the rapid development of computer technology, communication technology and multimedia technology, the way of communication has changed. Traditional communication tools including paper, pen, books and audio has developed to sound and light signal which can express information more accurately, easily and quickly. Driven by this demand, Video conference system is developed in this paper, and it is a new solution for telecommuting which combines network communication and computer multimedia technology.The video conference system described in the article is developed for internal remote video conference by a department of Neusoft. Now more and more employees in Neusoft scattered in different regions and countries. But it is necessary to keep collaboration and communication with team members as well as partners and customers anytime and anywhere. On the other hand, the managers and employees all wish to minimize travel because it not only increases the workload and the cost of the operation but also loss money and the productively caused by the travel. The corporate wants to reduce operating cost and improve productivity by software. It will provide support for remote office and mobile staff to accelerate the decision and shorten the time for developing software. Also it can capture the new business opportunities by timely communicating with the customers and partners. No matter where they are, it can realize the dynamic meeting between employees without reservation. If necessary, they can contact with each other at any time.Aimed at the basic needs of video conference system for Neusoft, the author completes the design and implementation of the system by using the open source framework BigBlueButton. It adopts PHP program language and MYSQL database and utilizes the interaction between Navicat library and the database. According to the process including demand analysis, general design and detailed design, it uses UML modeling method to design and develop the system.Based on the video conference system designed by this paper, the effective and high-definition remote meeting and work can be realized. It is like face-to-face communication, so the cross region problem can be solved easily. The advantages of this system are improving user communication efficiency, cutting corporate travel costs and improving management efficiency. It has partly replaced the business travel and become the latest telecommuting working model.
