With the development of the information technology, applications on information technology are expanding in our real life, for instance government business, financial dealing, office automation and so on. Though applications realize different function, they are running on the hard devices who are consist of CPU, memory, hard disk, and software such as operation system, database and so on. With the increasement of utility systems, the types of equipment and the number of devices, information managers encounter difficulties, likely it is hard to get the location when faults occur, to know the entirety running conditions by checking single device, or to take corresponding measures for the future through analysis about the historical peak and circle.In this thesis, we take the needs of operation and maintenance management of branch of a commercial bank as and example,design a centralized monitoring system,who is able to monitor the important computer resource such as host servers, network equipment, operating systems, databases, to show the performance event report, to store and analyze the historical performance data. The main research and development work is as follows:(1) In the case of a branch of commercial banks, the important computer resource is defined, and the development needs of the system are analyzed, the diagram of the role and use case, the system's activity diagram of use case and the system's time sequence diagram are given, and the functional requirements, development goals, development principles, development technology are made clear.(2) the overall structure and the physical structure of the important computer resource monitoring system of enterprise are proposed. The main function modules and database of the system are designed and realized.The system uses Telnet, JDBC, FTP, Syslog, SNMP and other protocols, standards and interface mode to collect the important computer resources of the system in various performance and alarm data, using database and storage process to complete data storage and computing, using Servlet, Jsp, JavaBean and other technology to achieve the system functions.(3) The function of the centralized monitoring system is carried out on the Vmware virtual machine. The test results show that the system can meet the actual needs of the enterprise business information system, and achieve the expected design goals, and has a good application prospect.The research and development of this paper is suitable for the operation and maintenance management of the enterprise internal business management system, and has a strong pertinence, which has the use value and promotion effect for the enterprise information construction.
