A Research And Collection And Compilation Of Gongsun Ni Zi

The Spring and Autumn period is an extremely fluctuating period in China's history,and also a period when academic ideas flourished.A cultural phenomenon when “all schools of thoughts contend for attention” happened in this period.As a representative of Confucianism and a student of Confucius,Gongsun Ni was very superior in the various schools of thought not only because he inherited Confucius' thoughts but also because he enriched and developed Confucius' thoughts.The theory to music of Gongsun Ni is always recognized as the source of systematic traditional Chinese music theory,and his idea of “Nature of human” is an important transitional bridge from Confucius' “Nature theory” to Mencius' theory of “good nature” and “bad nature”.His ideas on health maintenance also had wide impact on the later generations.However,the life story and main theories of Gongsun Ni cannot be found in literature due to time and war,and his works are lost.In this essay,I collected and annotated “Gongsun Ni Zi” written by him to give some references on the study of the theories Gongsun Ni had on the various schools of thoughts in the pre-Qin period.In the study I used a comprehensive method related to collection of ancient books to study Gongsun Ni and his book “Gongsun Ni Zi”.The essay is divided into four parts: the first part is introduction,which summarized the topic basis,the ideas of topic selection,the study method and meaning,and the status in quo of the study of Gongsun Ni.The second part is a brief introduction of Gongsun Ni,which included Gongsun Ni's life story and introductions of his works.The third part is an introduction of Gongsun Ni's main theories through “Gongsun Ni Zi” and relevant materials.And the fourth part is the collection and annotation of “Gongsun Ni Zi”,and is divided into guides and main body.
