Design And Implementation Of Hotel Client System Based On Android Set Top Box

Digital television set-top box(STB) technology has entered into China for ten years and software and hardware technology has been very mature. With the STB technology advances, more and more application software can be installed into STB. Improving the quantity and quality of the application software can increase the user's retention and the ARPU of the digital television, but actually, no operators can achieve this point. At the same time, early STB start aging, the workload of hardware fault repairmen is more and more heavy. Because of a change or transformation of STB manufacturers, it results that no one can support the STB hardware service after sale, not to mention the software service. In CCBN2011, open technology platform and Android system cause people's attention, so people foresaw that middleware would disappear from the stage of history with the implementation of direct loading application in open platforms, which also let many people realize that the essence of the problem, that is to say, the root of all problems of digital TV technology is the unopened platform.This issue takes hotel industry as breakthrough of digital TV STB transformation, also designs a customized version of intelligent STB hotel system based on Android platform, equipped with Android 4.0 operating system, using the HD network media architectural solution based on Hi3716 C V100 platform copyrighted by Hisilicon. This thesis implements the design and development of application software in client system through in-depth study of the STB's hardware and software environment, This design shields Android native interface and develops desktop system, service application software, multimedia application software ect. All of these are for hotel consumer. At the same time, this paper puts forward a kind of application software authentication mechanism for STB operator, in order to unify open platform and restrict the use of the third party application software.In this thesis, with analysing the characteristics of consumer and industry, the design work is carried out after full market research. In the process of development, the hardware environment is taken into consideration. The upper application of the system adopts the programming language Java, and the underlying driver is written by programming language C. Thanks for the JNI technology, the cross-programming language function call is realized. At present each function module of this system is normal operation, in addition digital TV broadcasting service has passed the industry standard test, and the whole system has achieved the expected goal.
