Driven by the market economy, single industrial product structure failed to satisfy the needs of social diversity. The diversification of industrial products bring a new challenge to the industrial manufacture and measurement. As a key part of power equipment, the measurement of the vacuum interrupter's geometry size and quality control provide quality assurance for the completed power equipment sets. Based on the basis of general machine vision measuring system, this paper has built a flexible vision measurement system for vacuum interrupters to meet the measurement of the vacuum interrupter's geometry size. This system successfully solved several problems of online automatic measurement. In addition, this system completely meet the measurement accuracy of the project requirements.The flexible vision measurement system of vacuum interrupter is composed by several hardware, such as a background light source, a fixed camera, a portable camera, a rotation measurement platform, an image processing computer. First, this paper carried out the analysis and contrast experiment of the image preprocessing, threshold segmentation and edge detection, which are involved in the flexible vision measurement system. Based on the extraction of vacuum interrupter's outside contour feature, we take advantage of the cosine similarity matching technology to build the incremental learning system. An improved Canny algorithm and eight neighborhood tracking technology is used to extract the arcing chamber contour in the matching system. After nonlinear distortion model introduced and Harris corner detection algorithm improved, Zhang's plane calibration method is used to calibrate this system and get the undistorted the image. The LSD algorithm is proved faster and better than PPHT by experiments in the detection of line segment. And internal parameters of LSD were optimized to perform best in several experiments. Using the LSD algorithm method, a result of 0.2 pixel precision is reached in the measurement of vacuum interrupter's movable conducting rod. Using the Gaussian surface fitting method to locate the subpixel of the curve edge of vacuum interrupters and the theory of least squares, an excellent results is reached in the measurement of vacuum interrupter's shell diameter.
