With the development of infrared technology, the infrared imaging system plays an important role in many fields, especially in the military field. Infrared simulation technologies can help to improve the infrared imaging equipment. By these technologies, the test conditions can be set easily and flexibility. As a result, the time and the economic costs can be saved during research of infrared equipment.Now, there are three kinds of infrared simulation technologies:Infrared simulation based on Vega, infrared simulation based on Ogre engine, and infrared simulation based on artificial intelligence. However, programmers cannot realize their own radiation models in the IR system using Vega, because it is not open-source. Since multi-materials are not supported by Ogre engine, the quality of simulation images produced by it is poor. As for simulation based on artificial intelligence, it needs collect lots of sample data, or depend on the hot material library of Vega. In the article, we propose a new method of infrared simulation which based on Unity engine, and realize infrared simulation of vehicles, buildings, pedestrians and planes. Besides, we realize CamShift algorithm in IR system to track a plane.Our system of infrared simulation based on Unity engine can integrate custom radiation model, which means the system has good expansibility. Because Unity engine supports more strong functions of graph renders, the system can generate high quality images, and has high real-time performance.
