With the development of information society and living standard of human beings,people are realizing the importance of security and safety.When the properties,enterprises or warehouses are unattended,unexpected accidents may affect people's normal work and life seriously.For this reason,a survalliant system for indoor monitoring is essential,which can monitor potential unsafe devices,analyse collected data,and alarm when necessary.It will be very useful for individuals or enterprises.The traditional survalliant systems have the disadvantages of simplex function,fixed location,blind angles in monitoring,or alarm not in time.To overcome these disadvantages,a remote mobile robot system for video monitoring is designed in this thesis.The system is based on Raspberry Pi and Arduino,which are the open source hardware devices,and utilizes the flexibility and controllability of robot.A middleware is designed to interconnect low level hardware platform and high level user applications.Using PCs or smart phones,users can watch the online video,receive the sensors data,and control the movement of the robot.Besides,a Minimum Location Set for information Collection(MiLSiC)algorithm based on set covering problem is proposed,which can find a minimum location set for data collection and survalliance in fixed topology environments.The mathematical model is studied and proved.A 0-1 linear programing method is used to solve the problem.The algorithm can improve the efficiency of data collection and mobile survalliance.The design of the remote mobile robot system has the characteristics of complete structure,functional diversity,reasonable price,simple operation,and etc.Each module is independent but close to each other in function.It has the advantages of intelligence and adaptability,which can be widely used in different survalliant scenes.
