The short-wave and fm receiver is one of the major equipment in our military forces. It is playing an important role in receiving. Because of the difficulty of inspection and maintenance of receiver, the experience is hard to spread. Based on this condition, the paper develops the failure diagnosis system in radio receiver.Focusing on the military equipment R71, this paper designs and implements the failure diagnosis system. The C++ Builder-based and database technology is used. The paper will summarize and abstract the experience and knowledge of maintenance on short-wave, fm receiver. Using the achievement of the receiver failure diagnosis, the system can find out the receiver's failure location and troubleshooting faulty components highly efficiency. The system is composed of the module of getting knowledge, the module of user management, the module of knowledge database management, the module of inference engine, the module of statistic analysis and the module of fault detection.The paper first describes the background of the system and the importance of the development. Then the current environment of the technology about fault diagnosis; Secondly, the requirements analysis of the system is given; and third the concrete design and implementation of each module is given; At last, we give the test results of the system and then conclude the whole work and propose the future plans for improvement.
