With the wide application of power semiconductor devices and nonlinear switching load,the harmonic problem of power system has become more and more serious.The power factor of modern power system is no longer equivalent to the phase shift factor between the fundamental voltage and the fundamental current traditionally,and it is closely related to the harmonic.Serious harmonic directly leads to the reduction of power factor.Two major ways to solve the problem are: a)compensate the harmonic of power grid;b)redesign the power electronic devices.Harmonic compensation is a passive method that can eliminate harmonic and improve power factor,but it is difficult to achieve unity power factor.Active Power Factor Correction(APFC)technology is an active method of harmonic suppression that the input current waveform can automatically follow the input voltage waveform changes to obtain ideal power factor.At present,single-phase APFC technology has already been maturely developed,however,three-phase active power factor correction technology is the focus of research.In this paper,the circuit topology and intelligent PID control strategy are mainly included in the research of three-phase single and double switch APFC technology.In order to solve the problem of high current harmonic in conventional three-phase single switch APFC circuit,a novel topological structure of APFC circuit is proposed.Moreover,the Firefly PID intelligent control will be applied to the closed loop control system of three-phase single and double switch circuit.Initially,the bionic principle and mathematical description of Firefly algorithm are introduced based on the summary of the research status of APFC.To overcome the lack of conventional PID controller,the Firefly PID algorithm is proposed.Secondly,the working principle of this novel single switch APFC circuit is analyzed in detail,and the hardware design of the circuit is completed with the main control chip of DSP TMS320F28335.Next,the Firefly PID algorithm is applied to this novel single switch APFC system,the simulation is carried out.Then,the working process of double switch APFC circuit is produced,and the mathematical model of the main circuit is established by using small signal analysis method.Finally,the software simulation of three-phase double switch APFC circuit based on Firefly PID control is realized.The experimental and simulation results show that the harmonic content can be effectively reduced by the improved three-phase single switch APFC circuit topology and the Firefly algorithm PID control,and the power factor is also increased.Moreover,the above indexes can be further improved by the use of Firefly algorithm PID control in the double switch APFC circuit.
