The Characteristic Of Substrate Integrated Coaxial Line And Application Research

With the development of wireless communication, Microwave circuit and RF passive devices (filters, power dividers etc.) have played an significant role in wireless system. Under the premise of ensuring the performance, it is a trend that to realize the miniaturization of products is inevitable. Microstrip lines are not dispersive and low quality factors, they present the problem of significantly loss due to radiation and cross-talk issues. On the other hand, Microstrip lines present the issue of lateral leakage as well as cross-talk problems. In the traditional sense, Substrate Integrated Coaxial Line (SICL) is a planar coaxial transmission lines. The same as coaxial line, the structures are all shield and not dispersive. SICL allows the propagation of TEM mode. The lateral shielding due to the metallic holes avoids the propagation of the unwanted parallel-plate mode. It means SICL has the advantage of bandwidth, low loss, small in size and low cost etc. At the same time, it can be fabricated by using simple, low cost thin-film process, and can be easily integrated with active devices.Thus, this thesis has designed a miniaturized band pass filter, quarter-wavelength filter and Wilkinson power divider on the base of SICL. Simulate by using the software of HFSS, test the results of material in order to check the conclusion of accuracy. The individual size of band pass filter and quarter-wavelength filter is 30 mm*20 mm* 1.1 mm and 25 mm* 15 mm* 1.1 mm. The size of Wilkinson power divider is 40 mm*40 mm* 1.1 mm. With the results of simulation and material test are in good agreements, the theory and the method of design are fundamentally correct.
