Comparison Of Evalution Method And Criteria Between Sino-American Excellent News Commentaries

News comment is the flag and soul of the mass media, Its social influence and credibility, is an important part of the national cultural soft power, has enormous influence on the social public opinion, people's spiritual and moral. The measures and evaluation for the award followed by excellent news commentary works' selection, reflect the mainstream values and traditional social culture of a country, have an important guiding significance for the press' s value orientation and behavior norms.The most representative activities about the China and USA's excellent news commentary works' selection is Chinese News Award and The Pulitzer Prize. Thus,This paper selected China News Award and The Pulitzer Prize's news commentary measures and evaluation standard as analysis text, then analysis the difference of the awards' target,organization, evaluation rules and the other aspects of the two news commentary works competition mechanism through a comprehensive reading and comparative analysis,This paper selected China News Award and The Pulitzer Prize's news commentary measures and evaluation standard as analysis text, then analysis the difference of the awards' target, organization, evaluation rules and the other aspects of the two news commentary works competition mechanism through a comprehensive reading and comparative analysis, the result shows that the main difference between Chinese and American news comments on the excellent award system is their political and independence tendency. At the same time, in the study of the main factors which could influence the two awards' evaluation methods, we found that the social system?concept of cultural ideas and comments are the main reasons leading to the difference of China News Award and The Pulitzer Prize's award mechanisms.Finally, after the comparative analysis between the China News Award and the Pulitzer Prize, I think we should draw lessons from the experience of the Pulitzer PrizeAwards and improve our awards in four aspects: the composition of the members of the jury?the evaluation criteria?the selection process of the Journalism articles and the set of the awards. The main purpose of this research is to provide a strong practical guidance and theoretical to promote the healthy development of China's journalism and give full play to the role of guidance in our work of public opinion of news comment.
