With the further promotion of the integration of telecommunication network, Internet and radio network, IPTV get a rapid development recent years. Currently, most users use a terminal box to receive media stream from server, to decode, and to display on the TV screen. IPTV terminal box can provide functions of live broadcast, vod, internet surfing, Dnline games, and so on.Now IPTV systems in China always use web pages to display EPG. Users browse the web pages and choose what they like. Scripts on the page invoke software modules in the 3ox to finish some tasks. So browsers and JavaScript Engine are very important in the [PTV terminal applications. After analyzing the current browser products, I finally choose ^Vebkit and V8. According to the technological specification of China Telecom, I modify ind extend Webkit and V8.The GUI of application is very important to users' experience, after learning Android Development Skills, I design number soft keyboard to archive the function of channel changing. Also, I modify webview's keyevent dispatching procedure, design the advertisement module, and design the function of vod bookmark watching. Finally, I design my own way of page browsing to override the webkit's default, it can highlight the element's bounds when users move between different elements.Now in China, ISP use IGMP Protocol to transport channel media stream, as access network has a huge difference in different cities, so now ISP only transport one channel at a time. When users change channel, it really takes much more time than traditional TV. I research and compare mainstream solutions of channel changing, and finally designed the client module of Fast Channel Change.
