Uniform circular array(UCA) antenna is commonly used on ships as tactical communication antenna, which usually works in V/UHF(30 MHZ ~ 3 GHZ) spectrum.It has great practical significance to study the characteristics of UCA antenna for its performance of forming Omni directional pattern, generating uniformly distributed identical single beam or even producing the main lobe of single beam pointing normal direction of planar array.It's a kind of practice to solve the radiation problem of UCA antenna by the method of numerical calculation based on the RWG basic element of MOM in this article.Firstly this article introduces the basic theory knowledge of UCA and the method of moments(MOM), then deduces how to solve electric field integral equation(EFIE) with the aid of the MOM based on the RWG basic element, and eventually derivates solution formulas of electric field and magnetic field at any point except the radiator's location.Secondly this paper writes entire code to calculate simple single dipole's surface current, input impedance, radiation pattern and so on, which preliminarily verifies the validity of the algorithm and programming when the results are compared with the dipole theory results. After that the article generates UCA antenna geometry structure on the basis of a single dipole by genetic algorithm, calculates its radiation characteristics using code similar to that of the front, and analyzes the effects of circle radius, the number of array element and element mutual coupling, which has a direct role in guiding.Finally extended analysis of array element replaced with bowtie antenna and array form changed into multiturn concentric circle array are carried out and the uniform linear array(ULA) antenna's performances are compared with the UCA which provide a design train of thought for the practical application that have requirements of special needs.
