Uniform circular arrays have been found broad applications in the recent years in communication, radar, navigation, control and guide, etc. due to its good systematic performance.The research work of this dissertation is to study the systematic performance of uniform circular arrays according to the requirement of the project. The main task is carried out to study the systematic performance of uniform circular arrays and analyze the effects of sorts of factors on the systematic performance. Then, by summarizing the characteristics and the laws of these effects, we will provide a valuable technical reference for the practical design of uniform circular arrays.In this paper, we first provide the system model of the circular arrays, on which several parameters of the systematic performance are analyzed in detail. Then, we discuss the effects of the number of array element and the array radius on the systematic performance of uniform circular arrays.Because errors are an important factor that restricts the performance of array antenna system, we analyze the effects of amplitude and phase errors and array element position errors on the performance of the uniform circular arrays, respectively. And the statistical characteristics of the beam pattern and the valuable results are provided through the statistical analysis and computer simulation.Element mutual coupling is one of the intrinsic characteristics, witch should be considered especially in the design of the arrays antenna. And it not only affects the antenna gain, beam width and sidelobe level, but also changes the amplitude and phase of the radio signals received. We will exploit two methods, i.e. the method of equivalent network and the method of moment (MOM), to analyze the effect of mutual coupling. Then, the rules of this effect of the mutual coupling are summarized.
