As the science and technology is developing rapidly, information processing technology is more and more widely used in industrial, medical, military and other fields, but at the same time higher requirements of function and performance of the systems are being put forward. In embedded target recognizer information processing applications, due to the large data amount and high information content of image, image processing is the most important part. According to the background of embedded target recognizer information processing, a general modular embedded target recognizer information processing architecture is proposed, it is based on the image access module composed of FPGA and DDR, multiple generalized image interface modules or image processing modules read the image from image access module in parallel and then transmit or process, and the internal structure and module function can be configured by external command. The architecture effectively improves the versatility and extensibility of embedded target recognizer information processing system based on FPGA.At first, the general modular embedded target recognizer information processing architecture is presented, and workflow of the whole architecture is described in detail, and then the three components namely image supplier, bus controller and image demander are described separately. Image demanders exchange data with image supplier through the bus controller in a standardized bus. Image demanders work independently, making it easily to add or remove itselves, and shortening the cycle of development and debugging. Based on this architecture, examples of several commonly used FPGA function modules are generalized designed, to achieve the purpose of adjusting the module function by modifying the internal logic code as little as possible and only change the external parameters, to adapt to different image detectors. And then configurable internal structure and module function is put forward, the image processing method and module connection can be configured by external command., to further strengthen the flexibility of system architecture.In project applications based on the system proposed here, function extension and adjustment can be done flexibly, and it has also some guiding significance on the dynamic reconfigurable system.
