The industry vision system (or the machine vision) is wildly used at the key points of the factory automation because of the high stability of the images, high capability of the transmission and high resistance of the interference. The industry camera can help the automation devices to achieve the unmanned operation with the high speed transmission, high resolution image capturing and the intelligence image analysis. We will get the better rate of error, the better quality of the products and the better production cost as well as the reduction of the labor cost.This thesis starts with the industry vision system. It analyses the difference between the CCD and the CMOS. And the thesis expounds the background of the Festo machine vision and the application of the machine vision for the transfer control system. Aiming at the insufficient of the convey system of the customer in the past, the thesis is talking about the design of the transfer control system which is based on the machine vision system and combine with the Ethernet technology, the fieldbus communication, the image processing and the handling system. It includes the system design, the hardware selection and the programming.The image processing includes the preprocessing, the feature extraction, the image description, the image inspection and so on. The programming includes development of the inspection programs for the machine vision and the programs of the controller system. The programs of the controller system are developed via the CoDeSys with the ST language and the CFC language. There is a chapter about the commission and the running in the auto mode of the system in one chapter.The system in the thesis is running at the customer site. The performance of the system meets the design requirements.
