The new curriculum reform requires we should pay attetntion to not only the cultivation of students' comprehensive ability,but also the training of students' scientific qualities.In recent years,electromagnetic technology has been widely promoted and applied in real life.Thus electromagnetism is becoming more and more important in high school physics teaching,being the necessary point in the entrance examination.But to most students,the concept is abstract,language poins are diverse so they find it difficult to master them.So how to enable students to master knowledge in a comprehensive way and be able to flexibly use these knowledge to solve related problems is a high challenge for the effective teaching of electromagnetism.In this research,the author first made full analysis of the papers of the Entrance Examination for College in recent five years.At the same time,a questionnaire was conducted among senior 2 and 3 students in some local schools.By combing teaching practice,the authour found that among students there are some difficulties in learning electromagnetics: 1.Studens lack the ability of self-study,which results in low efficiency of classroom learning.2.Students lack sufficient perceptual knowledge and overall understanding of the concepts and laws of electromagnetism.3.Students can not use electromagnetism knowledge to solve problems well.By using questionnaire and data analysis,the author analyzed and studied the overall structure of the electromagnetism,the condition of students' learning,the important position of electromagnetism in the test and the main problems in the electromagnetism teaching.Basing the research,the author raised effective teaching strategy in electromagnetism: build the whole and complete system of the electromagnetism knowledge,attaches much importance to experimental teaching,guide students to solve specific problems of physics and learn to institute physical modeling strategy.These strategies can not only help improve students' understanding of the overall framework and the basic content of electromagnetism but also they can make the students master the basic ideas and methods to solve the problem of electromagnetism.Therefore,the teaching of electromagnetism is effective teaching.
