Electromagnetic is an important branch of high school physics teaching. Students are easy to form misconceptings when they learning to master the concept of electromagnetics. Misconceptions in the minds of learners will have significant negative effect on the concept learning. This research uses the constructivism as the guideline, the epistemology as subsidiary, investigates students by the questionnaire adapted from CSEM, and summarizes the misconception in electromagnetics according to the investigated results. Besides, the formation cause of misconception was explored, teaching suggestions were also put forward in this research. According to analyze the date of investigated questionnaires, there are several misconceptions exist in electromagnetics, such as electrostatic equilibrium, Coulomb’s law, electric field, the induced charge and electric field, electric potential, magnetic field and electromagnetic induction. The research results indicated that there are four reasons of forming the misconception in electromagnetics:1. The electromagnetics in itself is abstract; 2. The analogy of concept is not appropriate; 3. Be short of the sensitive realization in electromagnetics; 4. The combination between theory and practice is not close in teaching processing. On the basis of the above-mentioned research about misconception in electromagnetics combined with the current teaching of physics, some teaching advice is proposed:1.The judgment method of the misconceptions;2. arousing cognitive conflict;3. Put more attention on the teaching of the basic conceptions;4.Strengthen the experimental teaching; 5. Advocating the analogy method; 6.Advocating inquiry teaching.
