The traits,value of teachers' work,state as well,are expressed by the roles and images they play.The teachers' images,which in textbooks will make difference to students,especially to pupils who are good at imitating,are shaped in daily communication,textbooks,films and literary works.With its own historical character,the teachers' image at present constantly improves on the basis of that in the past.But that does not mean that the teachers' image in the past seldom had redeeming feature.Therefore,to gain experience in Kai Ming Mandarin Textbook with the aim of improving the image in Current PEP Chinese Textbook,the teacher's image in Kai Ming Mandarin Textbook,which in maximum circulation in the Republic of China era,is compared with that in the Current PEP Chinese Textbook.Because the Republic of China is in cultural blend between China and the West,the teachers' image in textbooks not only reflects that in the past,but also indicates that in future.It has important enlightenment and reference significance.By the comparison,the natural quality,outward form and inner image will be analyzed.The reasons why there are differences include social factors,educational factors and composer factors.Last but not the least,the weakness in both textbooks and the direction of textbooks in future will be proposed.Freedom,rationalization and specialization will be considered.
