With the increase in the level of marketization and economic development, when the floating population seeks job opportunities and obtains income through the social network,it presents internal differences in occupation and income caused by different social networks. The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact of social networks on the income of floating populations. At the same time,we focus on the role of occupational stratification in the relationship between social networks and the income of floating populations. We will construct two research paths: First, the direct impact of social networks on the income of floating populations.Second, the indirect impact of social stratification on the income of floating population through social stratification. This paper uses the National Health and Family Planning Commission's(NHFPC)monitoring of China's floating population dynamics from 2011 to 2016 to investigate the inflow population data of Chongqing and uses STATA12.0 software to empirically test the relationship between the social networks, occupational stratification, and income of floating population in Chongqing. When exploring the direct impact of the social networks on the income of floating populations,an OLS regression model and a quantile regression model for the income of floating population were constructed. When the social networks was used to indirectly influence the income of floating population through occupational stratification, the The multi-class disordered logistic regression model with occupational stratification and the OLS regression model for floating population income. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: First, the social networks has a significant direct impact on the income of the floating population. The averagemonthly income of the floating populations working with weak ties was 5.51% higher than that of floating populations using the strong ties, and the impact of weak ties on the middle part of the income distribution of floating populations was greater than at both ends, and the impact on the middle and low income class was even more significant. The monthly average income of non-related(self-employed)floating populations is 20.01%higher than that of floating populations using strong ties, and as the income quantile increases, the impact of irrelevance on the income of the migrant population shows a continuously rising positive effect. The greatest impact on the highest income class.Second, the indirect influence of social network on the income of floating population through occupational stratification exists, but it is not obvious.Among them, occupational stratification can explain to a certain extent that floating population uses higher income than weaker employment, which has higher income.Occupational stratification does not help to explain non-related(self-employed)employment income that is higher than strong relations, which may not be related to(self-employed)floating populations who are mostly engaged in a relatively single career such as business services or individual businesses.According to the research conclusions, the following suggestions are proposed in this paper: First, expand the dissemination of employment information and maximize the employment of floating populations;Second, strengthen the vocational training of floating populations, improve the stability of employment and income; Finally, encourage the free employment of floating population and further increase the employment income.Related suggestions.
