In the 1990 s,the United States proposed STEM(science,technology,engineering,mathematics)education in order to improve its international competitiveness.Under the background of a knowledge-based economy,STEM education has attracted widespread attention around the world.Later,many people advocated the inclusion of ART in STEM education.They believed that artistic humanities and innovative education also played an important role and could bring more vitality and vitality.STEAM education pays attention to the interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge,attaches importance to the process of student learning,and emphasizes on developing students' creative thinking.STEAM education is a new form of education that has attracted much attention in the international community in recent years.It is an enrichment and extension of STEM education.Scholars and first-line teachers in China are also paying more and more attention to STEAM education,and have begun to apply STEAM education to practical curriculum teaching in order to effectively reform the current teaching situation in China.Explaining the teaching problem is a hot issue in the Chinese language education,and it is getting more and more attention.With the development of modern science and technology,science education has attracted the attention of all countries in the world,and more and more emphasis has been placed on students' scientific thinking methods.Explaining the text as a carrier of popular science knowledge in Chinese teaching materials fully reflects the instrumentality and humanities of the Chinese subject.Its teaching can gradually cultivate the students' scientific attitude and exercise their rational and rigorous thinking and creative thinking.However,in the current teaching process of junior middle school expository teaching,there are still problems that need to be solved,such as lack of interest of teachers and students,lack of teaching content,and lack of attention to writing teaching,which fail to highlight the teaching value of the text.The author found through research that STEAM education theory has a guiding role in solving the problems in the teaching of explanatory texts in China and can localize STEAM education.Therefore,this paper applies the STEAM education theory to junior middle school expository teaching and solves the problems existing in the teaching process of expository texts as research objectives.It puts forward some practical countermeasures to improve the efficiency of expository teaching.This article is mainly divided into four parts:Chapter 1:Introduction.This chapter includes the topic selection basis,research significance and innovation of the research problem,the content and methods of the research,and the research summary.Chapter 2:Overview of STEAM education theory.This chapter firstly carries out theoretical research on STEAM education,and introduces the emergence and development of STEAM education,its basic connotation,characteristics and value orientation.Chapter 3:Description and Problems of Junior Middle School Instructional Teaching.This chapter mainly summarizes the explanatory texts,and then analyzes the existing problems and reasons in the current status of the textual teaching through the analysis of the questionnaires,paving the way for the fourth chapter of strategic research.Chapter 4:The application of STEAM education in junior middle school expository teaching.This chapter is also the focus of this dissertation.Based on the analysis of the status quo of the teaching of the dissertation,the author uses the STEAM education theory as a guide to present the corresponding problems in the teaching of junior middle school.In the process of applying STEAM education theory to junior middle school expository teaching,the author made a more detailed explanation and argumentation to ensure its feasibility and scientificity.
