During the implementation of the One-child policy,loss of only-child families in China supported the national policy and contributed greatly to the population control and economic growth.Due to various tragic misfortunes,loss of only-child parents are forced to re-socialize themselves at a elder age.As a result,some inevitable problems occur.The refore,the author decided to research on the factors affecting the loss of only-child famili es' social adaptability,aiming to help loss of only-child parents to re-socialize moreeasily after bereavement.This paper discusses the social adaptability of loss of only-child families using thegrounded theory and consists of three parts.First part:Choose 25 research objects from the 137 loss of only-child families in city C and F and perform analysis on their basic information and backgrounds before their bereavement.Second part:Conduct in-depth in terviews with the research objects;convert audio recordings to written records and use the grounded theory to analyze the interview records.Conclusion:Personal factors,personal relationships,living conditions and activity media are the four most influential factors of the loss of only-child families' social adaptability.These four main factors facilitate the transition of the loss of only-child families' roles in society,maintain the stability of their living environment,encourage their participation and enhance their abilities in social activities.Third part:using practical experiences to conclude the status quo and drawback s of the loss of only-child families' social work for their social adaptability;after thoughtf ul research,sort out the procedure of loss of only-child families' social work for their soci al adaptability,and improve the existing services.
