Comparative Study Of ?Chinese Made Easy? And ?My First Chinese Reader?

International Schools are a new type of school in China.The teaching of Chinese language in international schools is an expand of Chinese language teaching in traditional Chinse schools.The study of the Chinese language teaching in internationals school is very limited.The textbook is one of the four important aspects of teaching Chinese language in international schools.It is the specific reflect of the overall design.It is the foundation of the classroom teaching and the assessment.It is the link between the object and the implement.Textbooks is what the teacher based on teaching and is what the students base on learning.It is the reflect of what to teach and what to learn.Therefore,the study of the textbooks is very important.This article is going to study two textbooks that are used in two international schools in Chengdu:?Chinese Made Easy?and?My first Chinese Reader?.These two textbooks are used for elementary students who are not native Chinese speakers.These two set of textbooks are used in multiple international schools in China.The study of these two set of textbooks are of importance.This article is divided into four chapters.It is going to study the teaching content arrangement;the new characters and words;the Chinese culture part;the practices art and the supporting materials of the two sets of text books.It also gives out a survey reports of the students who use the textbooks and an interview report of the teachers who use them.It tries from all aspects to do the research of the two sets of textbooks.Through the careful research,the author found that both textbooks are better in different aspects and lack in some aspect.This article tried to provide a basic reference for international schools to choose the textbooks for non-native speaking students for elementary level and provide a reference for the teachers who use them in international schools.
