Civics and citizenship education is increasingly concerned and be paid attention by the world,with the development of world's civics and citizenship education.Australia has implemented and achieved great success.The development of Australian civics and citizenship education reflects the progress of Australian social development.It's important to accept the civics and citizenship education in primary and secondary schools in Australia,which plays an important role in citizens and society.Based on the historical developments of Australian civics and citizenship education,this paper analyzes the implementation mode and studies the successful practice of civics and citizenship education in primary and secondary schools in Australia.In order to make suggestions to the implementation of civics and citizenship education in primary and secondary schools in China.Paper is divided into the following several parts:The first chapter expounds the selected topic reason,the research purpose and meaning,according to the existing literature clarify the research on civics and citizenship education in Australian primary and middle schools at home and abroad,and define the relevant concepts and confirm the research ideas and methods.The second chapter: this chapter introduces the international background of Australian civic education,mainly expound the investigative progress of the world's civics and citizenship education and the background of the development of Australian civics and citizenship education.Based on the developments and measures of world's civics and citizenship education,this paper analyzes the reasons and background of the implementation of Australian civics and citizenship education.The third chapter:overview the developments of Australian civics and citizenship education.There are four stages in history.First,it's the period of enlightenment,which is from the end of the 19 th century to the beginning of the 10th;Second,it's the transitional period which is from the 1930 s to the 1950s;Third,it's the pause period which is from1930 s to 1980s;Last,it's the evolution period which is from the 1980 s to the present.The fourth chapter:that is the key part of the paper,discusses the implementation of civics and citizenship education in primary and secondary schools in Australia.Primary and secondary school civic education is mainly from the curriculum and activities,which is based on the taught knowledge and encourages students to participate in school and community activities,so as to enhance the students' civic awareness and the sense of responsibility.The fifth chapter: study the practical cases of civics and citizenship education practice in primary and secondary schools in Australia,we can understand the contents and methods of civics and citizenship education in primary and secondary schools in Australia,so that we can understand it deeply.The sixth chapter: evaluation and enlightenment,there are some suggestions from the successful practical experience of civic education in primary and secondary schools in Australia,which depends on the detailed discussion with the present situation of civics and citizenship education in China...
