A Study On The Educational Activities Of Northeast China In Qing Dynasty

Qing government punished criminals with exiling them to frontier.The northeast has become one of the main penal colonies result from its remote position,poor natural conditions which few people came.This thesis focuses on the study of exiles' educational activities in the northeast and discusses the contribution of their educational exploit magnificent feat to local education.Based on the situation of northeast,exiles have many identities: political criminals,spreaders of Central Plain Civilization,protectors and developers of northeast.The exiles participated the construction process as guests and brought bright future to the northeast and opened up a new chapter for the development of the northeastern culture and education.The study regards exiles as a starting point to inspect educational activities ability and influence by their foregone identity,position,educational level.By investigation of the exiles' living situation,the thesis will analyzes the necessity of exiles' teaching behavior.However,the study of educational development must rely on the social environment and the national policy.Therefore,the thesis expound the exiles' educational activities,exile policies,imperial examination system of northeast and the national educational policies to expound roundly,objectively and correctly.Most of the exiles are full of knowledge and rich experience in office.They spread the Central Plains Civilization to the northeast and open associations and establish theories,their educational activities promoted northeastern development of education.Based on the increasing number of imperial examinations and rich forms of running schools in Qing Dynasty,the development of education in the northeast is connected with their educational exploit.Exiles of northeast have become the pioneers of education and lead huge influence to northeastern education development.In conclusion,it is necessary to understand the exiles' educational activities comprehensively in the northeast of Qing Dynasty,we can understand the contribution of the development of education by exiles in the northeast and tease the relationship between the educational exploit and the development of education in the northeast.
