A Study On The Influence Of Negative Media Coverage On Teachers' Moral Image

With the rapid development of society,the level of education becomes one of the symbols to measure a country's comprehensive national strength.The constant improvement of the social status of teachers makes the media pay more attention to them.Due to the limitation of the range of activity,the public's awareness of the teacher group mainly relies on the publicity and dissemination of the media.In other words,the media has a certain right to interpret the moral image of teachers.In the past,the description of teachers' image is mostly that they are selfless and they contribute silently.But today,the skepticism and the reports of the negative image of teachers are increasing.In order to seize the market and earn interest,even some reports demonize teachers by exaggerating the truth and calumniating them.These false reports not only create an emotional misunderstanding among the public,but also bring some challenges and threats to the teachers themselves,which is not conducive to the healthy development of education.We can further the inner world of the teacher,listen to the teacher's feelings and thoughts,trigger the public's sympathy and thinking,and express the most real feelings of the teachers according to the simple and unadorned characters.By doing so,we can correctly understand the teachers' moral image.The research adopts qualitative research methods,and it includes five dimensionality: the teachers themselves,being-with between teachers and students,communication with parents,schools' attitude and practice as well as the public perception of teachers and evaluation.The research listens to the teachers' heartfelt wishes and expands the social understanding.It also analyses the reason why the media reports on the teachers' negative moral image.The reasons are as followed: the speculation in the information-based society can make profit,the education is kind of utilitarian and worldly.Among the teachers,the good and bad are intermingled,the supervision is not enough,the media is lacking in professional ethics.Public's curious psychology and blindly following behaviors are also some of the reasons.Finally,the author puts forward the improvement strategy,First,the national strategy.Give play to the functions of government supervision and management,improve laws and regulations;purify the educational environment and publicize the positive energy of society.Second,theteacher-level strategy.Strengthen the construction of teachers' morality and improve the quality of teachers;improve teachers' self-reflection ability and promote the healthy development of physical and mental health.Third,the media level strategy.Strengthen the construction of media ethics,enhance social responsibility;impartial and objective reporting,and purify the media communication environment.Fourth,the mass-level strategy.Efforts to correct the mentality,get rid of curiosity;improve the ability to identify information to prevent follow suit.In this way,can we disseminate the correct teachers' moral image and maintains the teacher's social reputation,so as to purify the working environment of teachers.
