E-schoolbag is a student-centered,interactional between teachers and students,online-learning-resources-based network terminal,which is a systematical,interactional and digital educational platform covering five major teaching procedures including:teachers' lesson preparing,classroom teaching,tutoring,testing and homework.E-schoolbag-based English teaching model refers to a classroom English teaching model,which tries to combine the application of e-schoolbag with the traditional English teaching method,aiming to optimize students' learning mode,enhance interaction between teachers and students and increase English teaching effect and efficiency.Literature shows the studies on e-schoolbag in China mainly center around theoretical discussions,whereas related empirical studies are inadequate.Therefore,it is highly expected that this study is of value to further study the application of e-schoolbag to English teaching in junior middle schools in this internet-plus era.This paper is an experimental study,choosing two parallel classes of Grade Seven from a middle school in Laixi taught by the author herself as study subjects,with one as the experimental class and the other the controlled class.In the experimental class,e-schoolbag-based English teaching model was adopted,while in the controlled class the traditional classroom teaching method was still used.The experiment lasted for one term.The main research questions include: Compared with the traditional English teaching method,can the e-schoolbag-based English teaching model better improve students' English learning achievements,and better enhance students' English learning interest and motivation? Through data analysis,the main findings are as follows:First,compared with the traditional English teaching method,the e-schoolbag-based English teaching model can,to a great extent,better improve students' English learning achievements.In the post-test,the average score of the experimental class(81.21)was obviously higher than that of the controlled class(78.30),and the T-test also shows the difference is of statistical significance(with p-value being0.047 < 0.05).Secondly,compared with the traditional English teaching method,the e-schoolbag-based English teaching model can better enhance students' English learning interest and class involvement and motivation.Based on the author's classroom observation and the analysis of the questionnaires,students in the experimental class aremore interested and better involved in English learning,and their learning motivation is also more stimulated than the controlled class.Therefore,it might be said,to a certain extent,the application of the e-schoolbag-based English teaching model into junior middle schools is feasible.
