| That women’s entering into labor market is one of the biggest change in the recent one hundred years,which emancipated the productive force and creativity of half of the whole population and thereby laid the economic foundation for gender equality.However,working in labor market also brings up with female conflict between roles as a worker and as a mother.Child-bearing came to be the natural fence against the continuity and stability of women’s career,which results in employers’ discrimination against women in labor market.Thus,comparing to some women who choose quitting the labor market,some other choose lowering their fertility or even never giving birth.The fact that the continuous low fertility in western developed countries in 1970 s is exactly its embodiment,which followed by.a series of Low Fertility Trap problems,such as aging population.In order to coordinate work-familiy roles conflict among women,some measures have been taken in terms of women,family and work.The Nordic countries at the same time exhibit a remarkably high participation rate of mothers and a more moderate decline in fertility rates compared to other Western countries.This has been attributed to the fact that the welfare state model and,especially,the family friendly policies chosen in the Nordic countries are unique.This paper evaluated how the family friendly policy reconcile work-family conflict in Nordic countries from the perspective of labor market.Firstly,it sheds light on the historical development and characteristics of Nordic family friendly policy,and depicts the current status of women in employment in Nordic countries.We demonstrate the mechanism of how leave policy affect women employment on the basis of previous theory studies.In terms of how the family friendly policy affect Nordic women of bearing age employment rate,this paper builds a penal data regression base on the sample of 2005-2014 data of family friendly policy expenditure and 20-45 year-old women employment rate from Eurostat.The empirical result show that: parental leave total expenditure has a positive correlated with bearing-age women employment rate;child care expenditure has a positive correlated with bearing-age women employment rate.Furthermore,this paper points out family friendly policy may has some disadvantages against women employment,and proposes corresponding policy suggestions.The last but not least,Nordic family friendly policy’s enlightenment on China’s policy will be evaluated. |
