Typhoon disaster is one of the natural disasters.Since the special location,typhoon disaster is the most sever natural disaster to China,which brings huge losses and causes a large amount of casualties to China and its people.Therefore,fighting against typhoon disaster is a crucial task to Chinese government and studies on its coping mechanisms are also key research fied in Emergency Management.This article aims to explore the relationship between Guangzhou citizens' risk perceptions towards Nida typhoon(especially cognitive components),trust in governance,prediction technology,specialists,massive media,and coping mechanisms.Data were collected through questionnaire surveys in five districts(n=500)among City of Guangzhou.Casual relations were tested by means of Item Analysis(IA),Common Factor Analysis(CFA),one-way ANOVA,Independent-Sample T Test,Pearson Correlation Test.Overall,the results indicate that public typhoon risk perception has no correlation with coping mechanisms.Second,trust in government,specialists,prediction technology and mass media increases citizen's intention to take positive behaviors.Moreover,prudent behavior is especially influenced by public trust in government and mass media.Additionally,there is no significant relation between risk perception,trust and negative behavior,which shows as group difference.
