With the "public entrepreneurship,innovation" and the emergence of knowledge-based economy,innovation and entrepreneurship gradually raised to the national strategic level.As a part of the national innovation system and knowledge-intensive organization,colleges and universities have become the source of technological innovation and the driving force of economic growth.As a backbone of the era of knowledge economy,graduate students are not only the subject of higher education,but also the main force of entrepreneurial activities.In this study,with the combination of theory and practice,as well as the use of qualitative and quantitative research methods,the entrepreneurial ability of graduate students evaluation system and its application were studied.On the basis of analyzing the relevant literatures at home and abroad and combined with human capital theory,iceberg model theory,Timmons entrepreneurial process theory,this paper constructs the evaluation index of entrepreneurial ability of graduate students based on theory and interviews with entrepreneurs.This paper validates and corrects the evaluation index of the entrepreneurial ability of the postgraduates established by the empirical research method of which three indicators,two indicators of nine,three indicators 25,and then use the analytic hierarchy process to evaluate the weight of the evaluation of indicators.Based on the revised questionnaire,the application of the postgraduates' entrepreneurial ability evaluation index system in H university is carried out,and the entrepreneurial ability of the postgraduates of H university is at a good level.Male graduate students have higher entrepreneurial skills than female graduate students..The sophomore master's entrepreneurial ability is higher than that of the first year's master's degree.Science and engineering graduate students' entrepreneurial ability is higher than the management and humanities graduate students' entrepreneurial ability.The entrepreneurial ability of the graduate students in entrepreneurial courses is not very different from the entrepreneurial ability of the graduate students not in entrepreneurial courses.The entrepreneurial ability of the postgraduates who participated in the entrepreneurial activities was higher than that of the postgraduates who had not participated in the entrepreneurial activities.The research shows that the postgraduates have the higher psychological quality needed for their own business and certain entrepreneurial motives,but they still need to improve their entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial knowledge.Aiming at the establishment of the evaluation index of the entrepreneurial ability of the postgraduates and the problems found in the analysis of the application results,the paper puts forward the pertinent countermeasure from the individual level,the university level and the government level.In the individual level graduate students should examine themselves correctly and objectively.The group who have entrepreneurial motives should continue to learn to improve themselves.In the university entrepreneurship education level,universities should change the concept of entrepreneurship education,.In addition to the master's degree in scientific research,universities should focus on cultivating some basic qualities such as the sense of responsibility,integrating the resources of the school and establishing the realization mechanism of entrepreneurship education.At the government level,the government should actively formulate policies and ensure the publicity and implementation of policies,strengthen cooperation with third parties and offer more financing channels for postgraduates.
