Research On International Cooperation And Exchange Between Belarus And China In High Education

Cooperation with universities in China(5.7%)ranks fifth in the structure of international relations of the Higher School of Belarus.China has an active policy of supporting the study of its language and culture.China is leading in terms of the number of open centers(15.6%): the Confucius Republican Institute in the Byelorussian State University,the Confucius Institute and the Sinology Center at the Minsk State Linguistic University,the centers of Sinology at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University and Grodno State University,the center of Chinese culture in the Belarusian National Technical University.The aim of the study is to examine the areas of cooperation between Belarus and China in higher education and student exchange.This goal determined the solution of the following tasks:(1)study the historical aspects of higher education in the Republic of Belarus and China;(2)analyze the current situation and current trends in the system of higher education of the Republic of Belarus and China;(3)identify current problems in the system of higher education in the Republic of Belarus and China;(4)analyze legal and organizational barriers;(5)to consider issues of cooperation between Belarus and China in the system of higher education;(6)identify the system and mechanism,the platform,the content of the cooperation and the support mechanism.As a result of the research the following directions of intensifying bilateral cooperation in education exchange were offered:1.Encourage the students from other regions of China and Belarus to study in both countries through creating financial support hubs from Belarus and Chinese parties for the most talented students(scholarship programs for Bachelor,Master,Doctor degrees,summer research camps),not only by attracting the financial support of the governments but also from the related industries and private business,that already works on China – Belarus business projects or plans to develop,thus creating the needed professionals.2.Optimizing existing platforms for student exchange on the basis of existing Confucious institutes and international cooperation divisions of the corresponding universities both in China and in Bealarus.3.Creating website platform both in Russian and Chinese so the students from both countries could go apply directly to any of the universities of the both countries.
