Science experiment class is a try of China University of Petroleum(East China)to deepen the reform of talents cultivation mode,but also to adapt to the new requirements of talents cultivation,it is an important measure of the national higher education.To strengthen the science experiment class students’ learning motivation research can provide some suggestions and references for the cultivation of talents in school science experiment class,and the results can also be extended to the regular class,other colleges,other universities and even the whole society,so as to serve the construction of a learning society in the country.In this study,we use the science experiment class students of grade one(100),grade two(72 students),the students of grade three(73 students)as the experimental group,and select the college students of grade one(107),students of grade one in the school(97)were selected as control group,using the "college students’ learning motivation questionnaire" made by Huang Xiting and "College Students’ learning motivation and self diagnostic test" made by Song Zhuanmao were respectively to research the science experiment class students’ learning motivation.The survey found that the content of science experiment class students’ learning motivation from high to low in turn: "knowledge learning","social orientation","small group orientation","personal achievement","fear of failure" and "the pursuit of material".In general,the science experiment class students’ six learning motivation was not significant,both the number of every kind of learning motivation are between 3 and 5(range 6),is relatively reasonable.About the learning motivation problem,54.29% and 43.67% of the science experiment class students have a few problems or troubles,but the problem is not serious,and only 2.04% of the science experiment class students have a serious problem of learning motivation,must be optimized now.About learning motivation factors,the factors about grade and gender have influence on the science experiment class students’ learning motivation,and place of birth,whether the class committee,whether the child and other factors have some impact,but it is not significant.In addition,the science experiment class students’ learning motivation types with internal learning motivation,but there are some differences in their characteristics in learning motivation and the characteristics of college students,showed "the heavy knowledge,light material".According to the result of investigation and data analysis,this study from two aspects of teachers and students to cultivate and stimulate the learning motivation of college students.
