| With the continuous development of era of reading pictures,illustrations is widely applied to our lives and learning as an important way to convey information.The illustrations of primary school textbooks are in different forms and rich in content,which have become an important resource for language teaching as an integral part of textbooks.As the illustrations are intuitive and specific features,to help learners understand the content of the text play a huge role.However,in the teaching practice,due to the lack of understanding of teachers,teaching skills and teaching mode,the development of illustration teaching is in a dilemma.This study has synthesized the literature and survey method,basing on the textbooks of primary school textbooks(grades 1 to 6)as the main body.Based on the previous studies on this subject,this paper carries on the questionnaire survey to the Chinese teachers in the process of using illustrations to carry out the teaching of illustrations.At the same time,it also conducted in-depth interviews with teachers,focusing on the use of textbook illustrations in the use of illustrations and teaching links,the teaching of the ability of teaching students and the combination of illustrations and text content of the process of the existing problems and the main reasons.And according to the main reasons,combining with the relevant examples of language teaching,put forward to improving the use of illustrations,and increasing the efficiency of the use of illustrations recommendations.The results show that the use of illustrations in the teaching of language problems are the use of low frequency,the use of narrow range;a lack of reasonable planning and arrangements which teachers to carry out illustrations teaching,The combination of illustrations and language teaching is low and so on.From investigating the teachers and students,the author will cause the use of the main reasons attributed to the following points,which are improving old educational ideas and teachers teaching consciousness and lacking in professional skills of using illustrations to carry out the teaching.Teachers in the use of illustrations to carry out the teaching process there are a variety of problems.The reasons for these problems are complex and diverse.But the use of illustrations will not stop doing research because of these difficulties.On the contrary,we should proceed from reality,combining the teaching illustrations and language classes,to explore the development of illustrations teaching path in practice.It requires teachers to change the teaching concept,with a correct understanding of the educational functions of illustrations,running throughout the teaching to all aspects.Basing on the educational function of the textbook illustrations,this study puts forward some improved suggestions of these issues in the teaching process of teachers.These suggestions are the concept of teachers’ education changing and teachers awareness of teaching illustrations strengthening;then are the observation and training increasing to improve the teaching skills of teachers;and classroom teaching reforming to improve the utilize efficiency of teaching materials.From these three aspects,not only do focus on the illustrations of teaching,but also can better assist the development of language teaching. |
