| With the development of new curriculum reform,the cultivation of students’ scientific literacy and scientific inquiry ability has attracted the attention from the academic field.Many scholars have begun to rethink about the teaching problems of primary school science curriculum.They are committed to changing the status quo of one-sided emphasis on knowledge impartment,but not fully and effectively developing the students’ scientific thinking ability.Thus,the textbook compilation have become a key point among Academics and the front-line teachers.Good scientific textbook can not only convey scientific knowledge,but also cultivate scientific thinking.The stones of those hills may be used to polish gems.Under this circumstances,this thesis chooses the Grade1 Science textbook that used in California as the research object,carries on the text research to the writing characteristic of the teaching material.Combined with the conclusion of the study,some practical and feasible suggestions will be put forward to provide some references for the preparation of China’s primary school science textbook.In this thesis,the literature research method is used to study the relevant educational theories and the background of the textbook compilation.Based on this,an analysis framework for the compilation of textbook will be formed.And the content analysis method is adopted to analyze and research on,from the perspective of the form and content,the Grade1 Science textbook used in California.From the aspect of form,this thesis make an analysis of four main parts,including the layout,illustrations,text and columns.From the aspect of content,it analyzes the structural system,inquiry activities,interdisciplinary and humanistic quality education of the Science textbook.Based on the content of this study,it is known that the Grade1 Science textbook of California presents the characteristics of compilation through the well-designed form and scientific optimized content.The main conclusions are as follows: in line with the cognitive development of children;highlighting the entertaining elements through the ways of presenting;reflecting its guidance through the well-written language and coherent inquiry activities;reflecting the strong integration through its abundant content of Interdisciplinary and configured columns and icons,which effectively associated science with multiple disciplines;reflecting the student-centered subjectivity through the presentation of language and illustrations,as well as the selection of knowledge content and the establishment of inquiry activities.Some suggestions on the compilation and revision of primary school science textbooks in China will be put forward on the basis of this: students should be the main body of teaching,and the students’ subjectivity in the teaching process must be emphasized;compilation of the textbook should be interest-oriented to stimulate students curiosity and maintain the initiative to learn and explore;the inquiry learning should be regarded as the core,teaching materials and inquiry activities should be set up to improve the inquire ability;integration should be adopted to promote the development of establishing associations between science and other disciplines,expanding the interdisciplinary content in order to enhance students’ comprehensive scientific quality and expand their scientific thinking. |
