In today’s society,information technology develops rapidly,as it not only plays an important role in daily life and various industries but also is essential in the education field.As more and more courses need the help of information technology,great importance is attached to the teaching of it.Yet if teaching methods can’t keep up with the times,the teaching effect will be discounted even with modern teaching content,teaching media and facilities.Curriculum is to cultivate the students’ information literacy,and encourages students to use it in the practice so that with the aid of computer and network they can acquire and process information easily,and solve practical problems so as to make their study and life more convenient.In the situation of teaching reform in our country,information technology in middle school also needs reform.Today,a popular teaching method has seen its rapid development in our country,and it is widely used in vocational and technical education-that is the project based learning.Project based learning applied in information technology is a kind of exploration,as there are some relevant studies but even more issues to be discussed.This study is to explore the general process on the implementation of the project based learning.It demonstrates that the feasibility and effectiveness of the project based learning applied in junior middle school information technology course.The whole paper is divided into six parts:The first part:introduction.It indicates the significance and purpose of this research and presents the current situation of information technology at home and abroad.The second part:literature review of the project based learning.It demonstrates the basic theory,origin,basic concepts,components and characteristics of project based learning,as well as the development of it in our country,the problems existing in the application and research.The third part:its instructional design in junior middle school.It expounds from four aspects:learning content,learning situation analysis,learning target and the design of teaching strategy.The fourth part:teaching practice of project based learning in information technology course.This study presents two teaching practice cases according to the teaching design of the third part.The fifth part:analysis of teaching practice of the project based learning applied to the information technology course.The research methods include contrast and questionnaire investigation,observation to collect data;analyses are from three aspects:students’ interest and attitude,their knowledge,their performance in project activities;preliminary experimental results are obtained.The sixth part:summary and outlook.This is summary of the research achievements and deficiency in practice,and prospect of how to better apply the project based learning in the middle school information technology course.
