The picture book plays a very important role in children’s learning and growth because of its combination of graphic and text, simple expression and rich connotation.Picture Book Education in this period, is considered to be one of the main forms of early childhood education. Due to the physical and mental development characteristics of children in childhood, the parents play an indispensable role in this stage, parent-child education can effectively participate in children’s growth, to intervene inappropriate behaviors and thoughts, help children to form correct cognition and good development. With the development of modern technology, the deep integration of technology and education effectively promotes the reform of education forms, and innovates the means of education. Augmented Reality (AR) technology with new display mode and interactive mode, greatly enriched the traditional education to show the contents of the form, attracted all ages of children’s learning interest and positivity.The design of interaction for the deep integration technology with education will also provide new ideas for the development of parent-child picture books education.According to the traditional infant picture book of parent-child education, two important contents of parent-child reading and parent-child gaming, analyze the immutable organization forms and the boring interactive contents, which put forward the interactive mode of parent-child Picture Book Education to a new form of AR-based.Starting with the theory of interactively cognitive psychology in education, exploring the combination with the display and interactive method of AR technology, we analysis a design for the parent-child picture book reading and game including the organization models and interactive modes. Finally, we setup up an application based on the AR platform for parents and children by using the actual picture books and games. The result of experiments among serval parent-child show that the acceptance of the new form is higher.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Based on the theory of interactively cognitive psychology in education, we discuss the theoretical basis for interactive learning and the development of AR. By furtherly analyzing of parent-child interaction model, we sum up the interaction models of education under the environment of AR and conclude the shortage of interaction design means and content of the picture books education. Putting forward two important contents of picture books education, the AR-based parent-child reading and the AR-based parent-child game, we carry out the design for new interactive mode and learning mode based on AR environment which is a useful exploring for the integration of AR technology and educational content.(2) Based on the analyzing of models in traditional parent-child picture book reading, we proposal the contents, methods and processes of parent-child reading in AR environment, and construct a new AR application. Through the 3D stereo displaying,vivid animation video, we build the reading scene contextualization which can make a clear representation for characters and better for understanding. By voice, click, press,drag, sliding and other simple combination parent-child interactions and cooperation,we propose the interactive emotionalization to create a family environment for absorbing the interesting and participation for parents and children.(3) Based on the analyzing of models in traditional parent-child picture book game,we propose the design principles of parent-child game in AR parent-child picture book education by reconstructing the existing game content, mode of operation with the attributes of simple operation, strong game situation, parallel gaming and cooperative interaction. The content of interactive, namely the game contents, operation organization and the parent-child cooperation and battle modes. This paper explores the entertaining and interesting ways of parent-child games, and provides useful guidance for the development of this type of educational activities.Finally, using two specific cases to implement the design of interactive models for parent-child reading and parent-child game, we exam the transform for the tradition education content of picture books by creating APPs and the actual testing between parents and children. The evaluation results express a good application effect. It provides an effective reference for the development of AR-based educational activities,and also a beneficial attempt for the further integration of AR technology with the educational content widely.
