Physical education in primary school is the foundation of our nation's education while pupils, who shoulder the responsibility of the country, are the power source of the nation's development. As it can be seen from the series of relevant policies enacted by the state and the government, 'health' is the prime concern of the whole educational process and the implementation of physical education should be given priority to all the time. However, due to the gap between urban and rural areas, the physical education cannot be carried out because of the factors such as faculty, equipment and concept in the poor condition of rural schools, which seriously affected the comprehensive development of pupils there.This study uses questionnaires, interviews, field trips to investigate and analyze the physical education in rural schools systematically.State as follows:1.The evaluation system of the physical education is not perfect, lacking the inspections and supervision. The school leaders' understanding on the physical education lags behind; The quality of the class is generally low because of the limited class hours and haphazard plans; The after-class activities are very few and simplistic,lack of professional instruction.2. The rural schools of Heze City are short of finances and equipment, which means they can hardly meet the demands of physical education; The faculty in the rural schools of Heze City remains invisibly scanty. Some PE teachers are out of form and have the turnover intention for the little chance of professional training and unfair treatment.3. PE teachers' right and deep understanding of the physical education doesn't turn into their actions. Pupils are ignorant of the meaning of the physical education while their parents neglect the significance of physical education.Suggestions as follow:1. Perfect the evaluation system of the physical education and strengthen the supervision in the hope of ensuring the offering of PE classes and other after-school activities in the rural schools of Heze City; Quantify the examination indexes and attach more weight to the physical education considering the anticipant educational quality;Guarantee reasonable rate of having PE classes and enough hours; Enrich the forms of after-class activities while pupils can receive more instruction from their teachers.2. Increase the spending on the career of physical education including venues,facilities, equipment and take the advantages of the schools themselves to alleviate the problem; Increase the number of PE teachers in rural primary school of Heze City and treat them more equally.3. Increase the publicity aiming at theory of physical education in order to establish the right values of pupils and parents.
