Coming into the information age in 21th Century, the generation and dissemination of knowledge is growing, which raises new requirements for the cultivation of talents.Accordingly, cultivation of critical thinking becomes a hot topic in higher education.Critical thinking is the basis of innovative ability, but the critical thinking of Chinese college students is weak. And practice research is very lack on critical thinking training in China.The pre-service teacher will become professional teachers in the future, their critical thinking ability not only directly impact on the educational innovation in the future , but also indirectly impact on students who study in the primary school and middle school, the critical thinking may impact on their awareness and the ability of doubting, picking holes and reviewing evidence. Thus, developing normal School students’ critical thinking is really important. This research tries to carry out writing tasks in the lesson called < Application of Modern Educational Technology> in order to develop the pre-service teachers’ critical thinking in the application of information technology in Education.This article reviews the definition and research status of critical thinking on the basis of documents analysis. Then it specifies the research methods and the content analysis tool, which is a critical thinking content analysis system developed by Newman.Afterwards, it details two rounds of action research in practice and the corresponding research results. In the end, the article summarizes the results of the subject and the prospects of the research.According to the analysis, we can find that students are not good at looking for problems, making suggestions or demonstrating ideas or schemes in theory during the writing, and the rationality of argumentation is bad. They can consciously link the theory with practice and think the application of ideas or programs in the future. They lack the spirit to doubt the cited information or ideas but prefer to believe and use them directly.By setting a fixed writing problem, providing analytical demonstration and more specific materials, writing guide and feedback, students show a higher level of critical thinking ability in the second round of action research. But there are still many problems, such as lack the rationality of the argumentation and lack the ability of Self-appraisal. Besides,students show a stronger willingness to clarify and broader their vision in the process of’group writing. But some negative behaviors such as distracting appear obviously in the free discussion environment.In general, the study promotes a deep thinking of pre-service teacher on information technology applied to education. It also guides the students to analysis various education issues objectively and rationally. The study is good for pre-service teacher to think the educational issues critically in the future and improve the quality and effectiveness of education. It also provide a reference for the related studies.
