Teaching Action Research On Critical Thinking Capability Development Of Senior High School Students By Topic Reading Writing Approach Of Teaching

Critical thinking is an important part of creative thinking,and the two is an important part of management thinking.Innovation,first of all needs a rational spirit of questioning and questioning ability.Training critical thinking is to cultivate students' interpretation,analysis,evaluation and inference,as well as the fallacy of the discrimination ability,performance for the question,put forward their own point of view and to demonstrate their views.In recent years,many domestic Chinese and English teachers in secondary and primary schools promote students' critical thinking with the help of their lessons.The results show that appropriate teaching can enhance students' critical thinking.The study began in 2013 in the practice of Yantai S high school.July of 2014,I select the students of Class B of Senior one as the research object,carried out the action research and discussion on how to design the cultivation of critical thinking for the goal of topic reading and writing course and how to organize the teaching? Is theme reading writing teaching an effective way to develop critical thinking skills? As well as what kind of environment the development of critical thinking needs?In more than a year,parallel study and teaching practice,we had five lessons of topic reading and writing course.Students of Class B wrote 166 articles of the theme reading reports,total text of about 20 million words.Initially I explored and founded principle teaching plans and organization on topic reading and writing course.A single group of pre and post test quasi experimental method,interview and material analysis were used in the study.Single group of pre and post test of quasi experiment was carried by the California Critical Thinking Skills Test,the interval of 10 months between the twice testing.The analysis of test results showed that the experimental class students' critical thinking skills were significantly improved.The results of interview and material analysis show that the topic teaching of reading and writing is an effective way to improve students' critical thinking ability.The internal cause how the critical thinking ability of students enhanced contains that the students like theme reading and writing teaching.And they used effective learning methods,for example,they found in the "difference" and find "their own opinions" in the process of analysis and deduction skills training.Students obtained a strong sense of achievement by finding out some wrong things.Seeking the truth and winning psychological factors together constitute internal reasons.As the external cause,the reading workshop in the process of teaching had the greatest influence on the development of students' critical thinking,while sharing and peer review,the two steps of reading workshop are the two largest help.The theme like the soul of the teaching led the whole process from students' independent reading and writing to reading club.Critical thinking principle learning and skills training helped differently developed the students on different critical thinking skills.Role model and critical thinking class culture are the environmental factors to improve students' critical thinking ability.The study also found that the topic teaching of reading and writing had positive effect on the reading and writing of the students.
