At the end of nineteenth Century to mid twentieth Century China belongs to the historical development of modern history,this special historical period Chinese led to higher education from the traditional to the modern transformation,the birth of the modern university has the real meaning,but also appeared the prosperity of higher education.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the issue of how to realize the transition from tradition to modernization and how to develop in the special historical period of china.The history of the development of higher education is a whole,and the idea of higher education is often used in the practice of higher education.Therefore,this research insists on the history and reality of unity,the principle of the unity of history and logic,using literature method and historical method,the evolution of the idea of higher education as the main line,the implementation of the higher education system reform and higher education content analysis and discussion,certain social influence of different development stages on the basis of reflection Chinese higher education in the specific historical period of evolution to the degree and in the process of the development of the politics,economy and culture,so as to examine the higher education in the specific historical period as the historical characteristics in the presence of the basic law,finally come to the development of higher education.This study consists of five parts:the first part is the introduction,which mainly consists of the research questions,the definition of relevant concepts,literature review,research ideas and methods.The second part,the third part,the fourth part of the higher education in China in this particular historical period of the development of the three stages of the specific evolution of the status quo and reflection.As the second part presentation and Reflection on the development of higher education Chinese 1895--1911 initial period;the third part presents the 1912 China--development of higher education in 1927 the diversification period and reflection;fourth part presentation and Reflection on the development of higher education Chinese shaped during the 1928-1949.The fifth part is the research conclusion about the course of development of higher education China "at the end of nineteenth Century to mid twentieth Century,put forward the development of higher education is a gradual process,the development of higher education must follow its own law of development,higher education development needs a stable and open political environment","the development of higher education and economy are intertwined,and promote each other,the development of higher education needs a pluralistic and open cultural system" conclusion.
