The term citizens first appeared in the first democratic political system in the history of Greece Athens,civic education was accompanied by the emergence of citizenship,and our civic education in the last years of the Qing dynasty,the Republic of China in the period of development,after a period of stagnation after the founding of the country,after the reform and open to the attention of the state.After the reform and opening up,China's market economy has achieved remarkable results,the living standards of the people have improved greatly,but the democratic citizenship that matches with the market economy has not been promoted,this lack of civic consciousness seriously hindered the process of socialist democracy modernization in our country,the report of the 17 th congress of the communist party of China clearly pointed out " strengthen civic consciousness education,establish the socialist democratic rule of law,free equality,fair and just concept.".Subsequently,the Ministry of education proposed in 2014 that the core literacy of students as the primary link of curriculum reform,and citizenship is one of the five areas of core literacy,indicating that the party and the state to promote civic awareness to a new level.The state's attention to civic consciousness education should be implemented in the practice of reality,and the history education in middle school not only has a natural social connection with the cultivation of civic consciousness in theory,but also plays an important role in the teaching practice.This paper is divided into five parts,the introduction: mainly introduces the reason of the topic,research significance,the research status of this problem at home and abroad and the innovation of this paper.The first chapter: a brief introduction of the background and connotation of the generation of core literacy,and the civic awareness education and related concepts under the core literacy idea,and then make relevant statements about the relationship between core literacy and civic consciousness.The second chapter: the civic consciousness education in the history teaching of middle school is investigated andanalyzed in detail.The third chapter: the theory of civic awareness education in the history of secondary education.The fourth chapter: the present situation of middle school history education puts forward the free consciousness,responsibility consciousness and the national consciousness in the middle school history education concrete implementation way.
