English plays an important part in the education of the junior middle school,and the ability of listening,speaking,reading and writing is the main objective that English needs to achieve.In fact,in recent years,writing has occupied a large proportion in the junior school English exam,because the students’ English writing ability is not only related to the test,but also a manifestation of the level of English.With the high-speed development of the society and economy,the status of English is drawing more and more attention due to the practical application of English.And language writing can reflect one’s language capability precisely while language’s basic function is communication.The author learned that both students and teachers are flummoxed by writing.At the same time,the traditional English class pays more attention to the basic knowledge such as the pronunciation,meaning,structure,grammar and so on.This traditional English class takes the teacher as the center,inhibits the students’ enthusiasm and initiative of writing and bounds the development of innovative talents.And students’ compositions lack the real emotions and experience.Thus,the result of the writing training isn’t optimistic.Based on the analysis of the possibility and effectiveness of the implementation of micro writing,this thesis combines the constructivism,humanism and output hypothesis and takes the student as the center to implement the micro writing teaching.Through constant practice,the thesis forms the basic pattern and the teaching procedures of the micro writing in order to improve the teaching method of English writing.This thesis collects data through the experiment.The research methods are questionnaire,test and interview.During the experiment,the author selected two eight-grade classes in Jinan Twelfth Middle School as research subjects.Through four-month experimental teaching,the author carried out empirical study in order to know the efficiency of micro writing teaching.The author divided the two classes into the experimental class and the control class,and with the same textbook,students in the experimental class were taught in the method of micro writing but students in the control class were taught in the traditional way.Before experiment,the author carried the questionnaire I and the pre-interview in order to know students’ attitudes towards writing and whether their attitudes are the same.After experiment,the author carried out the questionnaire II to test whether students’ attitudes towards writing have changed and what the changes are after micro writing training.At the same time,there are the pre-test and post-test.Pre-test is to determine whether the writing level of the experimental class and the control class is consistent,and post-test is to analyze the students’ the degree of progress in different teaching modes.Through the analysis of the experimental results of the experimental class and the control class,this thesis discusses the research results,finds out the reasons for the differences,and provides scientific research data.At the end of the experiment,another interview was carried out to know students’ attitudes towards the micro writing and their suggestions on the improvement of the micro writing teaching.Through the research,the author found as a new writing style,micro writing can improve their writing interest,make students observe life actively,express their feelings freely to practice their learned knowledge and improve their English writing level.Albeit,there is yet potentiality for its perfection and continual improvement in actual teaching practice.The thesis includes six parts.In introduction,the author explains the background,significance and importance of the research,research questions as well as the structure of the thesis.In Chapter Two,the author classifies and organizes the related research on micro writing at home and abroad,and gives the definition and characteristics of micro writing.As for Chapter Three,the thesis mainly introduces the constructivism,humanism and output hypothesis to explain the rationality and necessity of the application of micro writing in English writing teaching of junior middle school.Chapter Four is research design including research hypotheses research subjects,research instruments and research procedures.Chapter Five is data analysis and discussion which introduces the collection of the data and the analysis of the questionnaires,interviews,pre-test and post-test.Finally,the thesis makes a conclusion,finds out the existing problems and puts forward some suggestions. |
