Abstract/Summary:
Teaching of Chinese writing in senior high school has been out of order for a long for a long time.The writing ability of students seems relatively poor due to low efficiency of teaching Chinese writing at schools.There are several reasons for the outdated development in writing teaching,such as improper teaching strategy,teachers’ low teaching quality,lack of attention attached to Chinese writing teaching and so so and so forth.What should be noteworthy is that serious problems exist in the Chinese writing textbooks.The inefficiency of writing teaching is not entirely because of the personal qualities of teachers but probably the drawbacks of textbooks,so it seems quite essential and crucial to study the compilation and application of current Chinese writing textbooks.This study chooses the PEP edition of Chinese writing textbook for senior high school as the research subject because it has become the most widely-used and important among textbooks of the same kind.This research methods cover the literature analysis,content analysis,questionnaire and interview.The writer made the questionnaire and the outline of interview on the basis of literature review and the content analysis of Chinese writing textbook for senior high school.Then,the writer selects some students and teachers as participants SPSS was used to analyzed the data collected.Moreover,a sequence of issues concerning the use of PEP edition of Chinese writing textbook for senior high school can be found through interviews.The thesis mainly includes six chapters.Chapter one is introduction.This part covers the research purpose,significance,methods and the layout of the paper research.Chapter two is the part of literature review,in which the relevant literature review concerning the use of Chinese writing textbooks.Chapter three is the general outline of PEP edition of Chinese writing textbooks for senior high school.It presents the related definition of some items.And analyses are implemented to study the structure of textbook and the main contents.Chapter four discusses the survey on the current situation of the Chinese writing textbook.Research design,implementation and the results are involved in this part.Problems related to the compilation and application of the textbook are presented in the chapter five.The main findings are summarized in the chapter six and a few objective and appropriate suggestions made to parties concerned are thrown out as well.The problems found in this study are as follows:on the one hand,it goes to the writing textbooks used in senior high schools.First,the writing materials have nothing in common with real contexts.Second,the textbooks are lack of sequential order.Third,relevant knowledge is not practical.Fourthly,operability of textbooks are hardly high.On the other hand,it goes to the problems found in the process of making use of Chinese writing textbooks for senior high school,such as deleting some contents in the writing textbooks,lack of integration for different parts,ignoring the effect of examples,using the textbooks mechanically and the like.Paper finally makes a corpus of suggestions here.The advice on Chinese writing textbooks of senior high schools is proposed.For instance,we ought to attach much more value to the sequential order of teaching contents and objectiveness of writing model.What is more,the parties concerned had better do their utmost to develop dozens of practical writing contents and make advantages of various contexts in order to enhance students’ writing skills.The suggestions for using Chinese writing textbooks are offered in this research.We are supposed to take a correct attitude towards the writing textbooks.Teachers can add or delete certain contents in real classes,and integrate the main ideas in a proper way.Besides,teachers ought to manage to focus on the writing process and explore the potentials of online writing materials.
